Kybella ($450/vial)
Kybella is an FDA-approved medication containing deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body. It aids in fat destruction in the submental area AKA double chin area. The treatment involves a series of injections in this region. The number of treatments required depends on each individual’s needs.
*2 to 4 vials are usually needed per Kybella treatment, and multiple Kybella treatments are recommended.
What to Expect
Our certified provider will address your concerns and determine if you are an appropriate candidate for this treatment. Photos will be taken to monitor your progress. Your skin will be cleansed. We will mark out the treatment area.
The treatment involves multiple injections. Often described as “pinchy,” or a slight tingling sensation. The treatment is relatively quick. Mild tenderness, swelling or fullness are likely to occur but resolve over the next week. Some patients may experience numbness around the area of injections but it will resolve. Patients may opt to bring a light scarf with them to cover any swelling!
Ice can be applied and/or Tylenol can be taken to help minimize any discomfort. Avoid any strenuous activity for a minimum of 24 hours.
